To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you in advance for considering my application. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to interview for a position with your organization. In light of my many years of experience in various fields, I believe I can make a significant contribution to your team.

After being laid off three times in two years due to the economy, I decided to become proactive and turn my focus to something I felt would offer more long term career stability. Instead of letting these unfortunate events affect me negatively, I decided to rise to the occasion, be proactive, and go back to school. I completed the 1000 hour Medical Coding/Billing Course at SCTI in May 2009, which included a 5 week externship gaining hands-on experience in coding, and am currently studying to take my CCA certification.

My professional experience and background goes back over twenty years and includes proficiency in data entry, all aspects of bookkeeping, inventory, materials handling, and customer service. I have owned my own businesses, and have had the self discipline to work from home in the mortgage industry. Currently I run the Accounts Payable and Receivable department for a 25 year old company and am the bookkeeper for a family owned contracting business. I pride myself on being a team player with a professional attitude and appearance. I have always been a very hard worker, often working two jobs at a time. My ability to communicate with people, keep a positive outlook in a sometimes hectic and ever changing environment, and focus on task is unprecedented. I have proficient computer skills, can type 60-80 wpm, and have a vast understanding of computer software programs.

In closing, I appreciate your interest in me, and hope to have the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a position with your company in the near future.
